• This is a 4 hour class for unarmed and 16 hours for armed security training. Pepper spray, baton, shotgun, handcuffing, and renewal is also 4 hours.
• Make your handgun safe, no rounds in the Barrel, Chamber or Magazine. Bring your handgun into the classroom in a container.
• Leave ALL ammo/ammunition in the vehicle outside if you brought your own.
• You will need a quality handgun (you must qualify with the weapon that you plan to carry on duty) and 50 rounds of quality ammunition, no steel ammo allowed. You can arrange to have your instructor provide ammo for you if you are unsure of how to purchase it.
• Please bring a valid picture id.
• After you complete your class make sure you wash your hands with cold water to reduce the gun powder residue on your hands.
• Your clothing will have gun powder residue also, refrain from touching your eyes until you have taken the necessary precaution
• After successful completion of this class you have 1 year to submit your application to the State of Tennessee to get processed for your Security Guard License. If for any reason you wait more than 1 year, you will have to take the entire class over again.
• You cannot worked as an armed security guard until you receive you license and the license must be on your person anytime you are working.
• This is an 8 hour class, however it can be broken down into two days with advanced approval
• All classes start at 9 am, please be on time and plan for being there until 4:30pm.

• After successful completion of this class you have 6 months to take your certificate and fee to a Driver Testing Station in the State of Tennessee to get processed for your handgun carry permit. If for any reason you wait more than 6 months you will have to take the entire class over again.
• Once you receive your permit, your handgun may be carried open or concealed, this is your choice in the State of Tennessee.
